Get up close to a Spitfire on ground and in flight as it appears as your wingman, and take an aerial tour of Castle Ashby too with this Fly Alongside a Spitfire - Castle Ashby Tour. Produced in greater numbers than any other British aircraft, the Spitfire is a beacon of Britain's aerial supremacy before, during and after the Second World War. You'll get to see why from a seat on board a de Havilland Devon, an ex RAF passenger aircraft, as a Spitfire flies within smiling distance of your window. As you cruise along you'll be able to take in breathtaking views of Castle Ashby and the surrounding grounds, while the Spitfire manoeuvres around your plane with characteristic ease. Keep your camera to hand for some amazing air to air snaps! Fancy an even closer view? Your experience includes an essential Ground Viewing with the Spitfire.

Additional Information
On arrival at Sywell Aerodrome in Northampton you'll meet and greet the day's pilots as well as some of your fellow passengers before climbing aboard the de Havilland Devon. During the 20 minute flight and once you're up to cruising speed the Spitfire will join you for 10 minutes of flying alongside and manoeuvres, and you'll be able to take some amazing photos of both the Spitfire and the grounds of Castle Ashby as you pass by high in the sky. Back on the ground you will have the opportunity to view the Spitfire as it sits on the airfield - another opportunity for some quality photos.
