If you are aged 8 to 15 and love animals, then this is the perfect experience for you. This Junior Keeper for a day adventure will give you a great idea of what it is really like to work at a zoo and care for the animals at Woburn Safari Park on a daily basis. As a Junior Keeper you will get up close to the animals in the animal encounter area and even have the chance to visit your favourite animal in the drive through reserves. You and the other juniors will go behind the scenes at Woburn Safari Park and experience firsthand what life is like as an animal keeper. You'll join the staff and get involved with mucking out, food preparation and will have close encounters with some of the smaller animals. Expect to have lots of fun 'and grubby hands, whilst taking part in this fabulous experience.
Need to Know
You may start your half day as a Junior Keeper by helping the rangers with their morning duties in the Rainbow Landing ' with the colourful Lorikeets. You could then be mucking out the stables where the ponies and donkeys live before the best part of your day ''favourite animal hour'. This is where you will jump into the VIP Land Rover and direct the driver to your chosen safari animal for a close encounter. After this maybe you'll help feed the penguins and head to the Land of Lemurs to get a bit closer to those Madagascan primates. Once you have finished with your keeper duties you will receive a guidebook and an 'Animal Keeper' certificate as souvenirs of your experience and you are welcome to stay in the park until closing time.
