This is a trip of pure nostalgia. There is something about an open-cockpit biplane; it has a timeless grace and beauty which perfectly captures the romance and adventure of pioneering aviation. Now you too can experience the exhilaration and excitement of flying, in a vintage Tiger Moth. The de Havilland DH 82 Tiger Moth was designed by Geoffrey de Havilland and used by the Royal Air Force as a primary trainer, it remained in service with them until replaced by de Havilland's next creation. These days most of the Tiger Moths left in Britain are privately owned, so this really is an experience of a lifetime.
Need to Know
Upon arrival you will be greeted by a member of staff and will await your instructor. You will receive a full pre-flight briefing from your pilot who will also hand you your traditional flying attire. Then you'll head over to the aircraft and climb aboard. Once in the air, your instructor will demonstrate how to fly the plane and if you wish, give you an opportunity to take the controls for a real hands-on flying experience. It's down to your instructor to land though.
